Jennifer A. Crumlish, Ph.D., ABPP

After graduating with with a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, I held various positions as I explored my interests. Volunteering for the D.C. Hotline, as it was known at the time, led to a position as a research assistant in the Biological Psychiatry Branch at NIMH. I graduated from the clinical psychology program at Catholic University after completing a year long internship at St. Elizabeths. My primary placement at St. Elizabeths was on an inpatient unit providing treatment to and psychological evaluations with individuals with chronic mental health conditions. In addition I completed rotations on the geriatric inpatient unit as well as within two outpatient mental health centers.

In the early part of my career, I held positions as an examiner for a research study at Johns Hopkins and as a counselor for the GW Weight Loss Center. From 1999 until 2003 I was a staff psychologist at the Kingsbury Center where I conducted psychological evaluations of children and adolescents from the D.C. community with concerns regarding developmental, academic and emotional issues. I also provided psychotherapy and conducted evaluations with students enrolled in the Kingsbury School. I was a partner at the Washington Psychological Center from 2002 until 2023.

Since 2006, I have conducted psychological evaluations for clients of D.C.’s Adult Protective Services when there are concerns regarding abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. During a hiatus from APS I was an examiner for the Probate Court for the D.C. Superior Court. I have also conducted psychological evaluations for cases involving financial exploitation and undue influence for the Civil Rights and Elder Justice Section of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.

Since graduating from Catholic University in 1996, I have offered psychotherapy to individuals and couples with a primary focus on issues related to interpersonal experiences, mood and anxiety problems, challenges in relationships, and work stress/vocational pursuits. I have also offered psychological evaluations to individuals with either clinical or forensic concerns.

I am licensed in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and New York, and am able to provide telehealth for individuals and couples in states that participate in the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).
